Ive been struggling for a while getting motivated about the plank training, this is because i am obsessing about the time each time. Over the last week I have been holding the plank every morning for as long as I like not worrying about the time. This has really helped me to get back on track and I am determined to break this record.Published: 19/08/2011

Last week I was moving house and sleeping on the floor so I didn't do the plank much. I did 2 x 5 minute planks and a 8:30 plank.
This week I set my self the goal of doing a 10 minute plank every day. I did 8:30 on the first day which was good then 2 x 10 minute planks. They felt really strong and 10 minutes wasn't too tough which is excellent.

Today I atempted to double 7:30, so I was aiming for 15 minutes. How I train is by counting down from a number so I picked a high number 500 and said id stop when I finished at 0. However it was so tough I was counting like Gizmo duck and finished at 11:12. I held on to 13 minutes which I am really pleased with. Although it is along way off the new record of 33:40!!!Published: 05/08/2011
I am feeling much beter after my massage, I also went for a run and swim to loosen off.
I have a new plank training plan:
Day 1 6 x half my maximum plank
Day 2 1 long plank aiming to do twice my half figure. I.E double yesterday.
Day 3 and 4 Rest
Repeat.
So today I did:
7:30 x 6 + 2 = 47 minutes. But I also did a 2 minute plank whilst getting photos dont with the team from Each.

Added another 30 seconds today.
Mentally I am finding the planks much easier and acidentally did 8:28 for my first plank however my back really started to tighten up so I decided to rest on the last plank.
8:28+7+7+7+4:40= 30:08

It actually feels like its working, each day the first few planks are easier.
Decided to add 30seconds today. So its 6:15.
6:15 x 7 +50 seconds extra. = 44.35

Today I upped the time of each plank by 15 seconds.
The first plank was much easier and felt good, all the planks today felt much stronger than yesterday so this is working well. I did the following:
Plank 1 =6:25 - oops I didn't look at the clock till then.
Then 7 x 5:45.
So my total plank time for the day was: 46 minutes and 40 seconds. Easily the most I have ever done it 24hrs.
